Dutch Pancakes
Enjoy one of our family favorites, all you need is a good Cast Iron Skillet and your imagination! This recipe can serve up to 4 people, but in our family, we usually go through at least 3 batches. Each batch will need to be prepared separately.

Ingredients

  • (1/4 Cup) Butter
  • (3) Natural Gramma Egg
  • (3/4 Cup) Milk
  • (3/4 Cup) Flour

Directions

Preheat oven to 400°, place butter into a cold cast iron skillet and place in oven to pre-heat. In a blender, whip the eggs on high for 1 minute. Gradually add the flour and milk in alternating batches. After everything has been added, continue to whir for 30 seconds.

Once the butter has melted and the oven has reached temperature, carefully remove the pan and swirl the butter to coat. Pour the batter in the hot pan and replace in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until the batter climbs the sides of the pan, puffs up in the middle and the edges turn golden.

Toppings and Variations:

Traditionally you would serve this by simply cutting into slices, similar to pizza, then topping with lemon juice and powdered sugar.

You can also layer thinly sliced apples and cinnamon sugar in the pan prior to pouring the batter in, the cooking time will not change.

This base recipe also makes a fantastic crepe, just cook in a nonstick pan on the stove rather than in the oven. We love cottage cheese and jam for a blintz feel.
